The Care & Nurture Team of First Farragut United Methodist Church offers love, care and help to church members, friends, and family in times of need. In addition to providing support, encouragement, and care for those in need, this ministry also provides opportunities for others to use their spiritual gifts to make a difference in the lives of others. The Ministry team meets monthly for program planning and to discuss current care concerns.

Bereavement Support Ministry Team

This team provides care and nurture for persons who have experienced the death of a loved one.  The goal of the ministry is to provide whatever assistance is needed such as:
  • Serving as a liaison between the funeral home and the church if the services are held at the church
  • Providing meals
  • Assisting with needs for childcare or accommodations for out-of-town visitors
  • Coordination information between the bereaved and the church family

New Parent's Ministry Team

This team provides care and nurture for parents with new additions to their families. Upon arrival, new babies are announced to the congregation, and "Silas the Stork" lands in their yard announcing the birth of a new FFUMC member. Additionally a welcome basket and help with meals is provided for new parents.

Holy Communion Ministry Team

Holy Communion is served at FFUMC on the first Sunday of the month. Following the sharing of the table, the Holy Communion Ministry Team takes communion to those persons within the FFUMC family who are shut-ins or unable to attend church.
