Director of Children’s Ministry Farragut Church is seeking a Director of Children’s Ministry to oversee the following:(A) Direction of part-time nursery workers and volunteers for nursery/preschool ministries (birth through preschool); (B) Planning, implementing, and providing overall supervision to the children’s ministry programs. Responsibilities include being present in the Children’s area on Sunday mornings to give direction and leadership to nursery/preschool area staff, Sunday School & Children’s Church teachers, volunteers, parents and children. Scheduling and recruiting volunteers, providing training, support direction and encouragement for all programming involving children (birth through 5th grade). Responsible for children’s Sunday School, children’s church, Vacation Bible School, and any other special children’s events and programs (5 years old through 5th grade). Responsible for locating and hiring Nursery/Preschool staff, training and annual reviews. Ensures availability of nursery/preschool workers/volunteers to provide child care for church functions on or off site. Prepares and updates procedures for child care, discipline and cleanliness of facilities and toys. Requirements (education, training, skills, character, etc.): Bachelor’s degree and/or specialized background in Christian Education. Previous experience working with children from birth through 5th grade, and previous experience in church work is desirable and preferred. Must be a person of genuine Christian character and commitment, who professes faith in Jesus Christ and exhibits a sincere Christian lifestyle.
