The Addicted Mind/Belief System is a community event for mental health conversations. The event is intended for youth and adults who want to learn more about addiction.
What is the impact of addiction on the brain? Why is connection in recovery so important?
Participants will learn:
- Why people use, abuse, and become addicted to substances.
- How substance misuse impacts perception, decision-making, and self-control.
- What the mind needs to recover from substance use disorder.
First Farragut United Methodist Church is a Certified Recovery Congregation through the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Faith-Based Initiative. Hope Rises is a community series that discusses and works to break the stigma of mental health and addiction.
