We are looking for members of the congregation to help us serve lunch to our homeless friends in downtown Knoxville through the Care Cuts ministry. Our next service date is Sunday, December 12.  (Note:  In December, 2021, we are serving on the SECOND Sunday of the month.) We are asking for volunteers to serve immediately following the worship service (noon – 4:00 p.m.).  If you can only serve during a portion of this time frame, that’s great too!  If you are unable to serve downtown after the worship service, we are also looking for volunteers who can deliver the food to Care Cuts the day before (Saturday, December 11) between 9:00 and 11:00 a.m.  Directed donations to assist in covering the cost of the food would be sincerely appreciated as well.  Make your check payable to FFUMC and note “Care Cuts Ministry” on the memo line or go here to give online.  For more information, or to volunteer, email Stacey Breeding.

The pleasure of your company is requested:

It’s That Time of Year Again! Christmas with the Community Day (CCD) is Sunday, December 5. Instead of a meal this year, we plan to have hot chocolate and cookies for our guests. Here are ways you can help:

Bring your children’s books, adult books, and/or McKay’s credits to help us build our Book Station inventory to give out on Christmas With the Community Day. If you have questions, contact Camille Rainey. Bring your gently-used coats in all sizes, as well as hats, gloves, and scarves. The “Coat Box” is located on Main Street. If you have any questions, contact Denise Viator. Wesley’s Attic needs gently-used fall and winter clothing (newborn to child size 16) and clean, in-good-condition sneakers. Donations can be brought to the church office Monday thru Thursday from 9:00a until 2:00p. Buy a new toy (approximately $10) and place it in the giant gift box on Main Street or drop off a donation to the church office, and we’ll shop for you. We also need about 300 medium to large Christmas gift bags for the toys. If you have any questions, contact Kathy Cleveland or Karen Warnick.
Helpers are also needed before and during the event on Thurs. (Dec. 2), Friday (Dec. 3), Sat. (Dec. 4), and Sunday (Dec. 5) as we prepare for our guests. To see all the opportunities to serve, go to SignUp Genius to volunteer.
Thank you for your continued generosity as we reach out to our neighbors in need!

The Angel Tree is EMPTY!!  Many gifts have already been returned to the church.  Thank you for purchasing gifts for Wesley House students.  Please pray for your Angel Child, and be sure to keep them in your hearts in the upcoming year. All wrapped gifts are due back to FFUMC by Sunday, December 5.   Questions? Contact Ondie Reese.
